WHETHER HE/SHE KNOWS ABOUT YOUR KID OR NOT?
Hello everyone,
Being active in the profession of therapy for special kids from more than 12 years, have seen various types of therapies for special needs kids, which are really helpful for the growth of a special needs kid, but as this is also a service market, so it obviously attracts fake and quacks in it.
In my professional life I have came across so many good and high skilled professionals who are working to serve special kids and to make their life better, but there are professionals (other than quacks), who are just keen to make money.
I believe it is need of the hour that we must start a discussion on the quacks and low standard professionals, as a parent of a special kid wants best for their kids, but many times they becomes prey to these quacks and frauds who doesn’t know anything about the condition of a kid, neither they know about the therapies but being helper or assistant in the past at any therapist’s place they starts applying what they just saw, it’s completely like doing surgery after getting trained from youtube, parents who spends huge amount of money thinking their kids are getting good guidance and therapies are fooled on daily basis by these quacks, who literally not even belong to medical background. Not only frauds but many professionals too in greed of earning more and more they appoint anyone for working with sensitive kids, one must understand that to serve sensitive special kids one needs proper training and compassion along with love, care, patiences and empathy towards them, which only comes with the time one puts in the proper training (proper qualification).
After paying huge amount of money, it’s right of a parent to know what type of therapy protocols have been designed for their kids.
A good therapist or professional is one –
- who has proper knowledge of kid’s condition,
- who follows ethics of the profession,
- who doesn’t hesitate in asking for help and learn if needed,
- who is eager to learn so that he can serve better always,
- who has intent to be available for parents whenever they need for their queries for their kids,
